Rainford - Inglenook Farm Shop
A few years ago, we took my mother to Norfolk to see (and smell) the lavender harvest. It was an amazing experience, and the only reason why I've never gone back is that it's was such a long journey.
Thankfully, if you live in the North West you don't have to travel so far to smell lavender! On the Rainford Bypass there's Inglenook Farm, who organically grow lavender and chamomile. They distil, bottle and sell the essential oils on the farm:
They also sell luxury hand made vegetable soaps and essential oil based gifts.
Next to this shop, is a farm shop - with lots of great local foods from small independent producers:
like Bon Bon’s muesli, Choc Amor chocolates, Christine's Preserves, fudge from Connies Kitchen, and pickles from the The Pickled Village
They have a good selection of local fruit and veg:
which are also used in their café, which is just across the yard in the farmhouse.
They sell their own free range eggs:
in fact you may encounter a hen, or two, as you wander around:
There's also a range of other businesses on the farm like A F Designs, African Dream, Boonric Gallery selling paintings from local artists, Re-Nu Therapies (offering beauty and holistic treatments), Fine Feathers (selling wild bird seed and much more), Phish 4 Plants nursery and the Wood Works:

who do interesting chain saw carvings.
If all that wasn't enough, on the second Sunday of every month there's an Artisan Market, with even more stalls.Inglenook Farm Shop
